PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A man from Rocky Point pleaded guilty Friday to the 2012 stabbing death of Debra Gail Long.

Tony Allen Harris, 41, pleaded guilty to second degree murder in Pender County Superior Court.

Court documents show Long was stabbed 14 times in the face, neck, and chest.

911 calls reveal Harris called several people close to him after the incident. He apparently called his boss and his mother saying he killed his girlfriend.

Long's close friend Carla Spencer said Long planned to get a restraining order against her boyfriend, but she never made it.

Harris's criminal history dates back to 1989. He's been convicted three times for assault on a female. He has also served time for several drug and breaking and entering convictions.

Sentencing in this case will take place July 29 at 9:30 a.m. in the Pender County Superior Court. Harris will remain in custody until sentenced.
