Debris removed from runway after plane lands with engine trouble

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Officials at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport had to clean debris from the runway after a plane landed with a report of engine troubles.

According to airport officials, a Delta aircraft landed safely and taxied on its own after the pilot reported possible mechanical problems with an engine.

That's when the airport had employees complete a sweep of the runway to pick up any debris.

The runways were closed while the cleanup was underway.

Planes began to land and pull away from the gates around 11:10 a.m.
