Queens Rd shut down after vehicle hits utility pole

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A busy Charlotte road was shut down Thursday after a vehicle struck a utility pole.

The accident happened at the intersection of Queens Road and Providence Road around 4:30 p.m.

Officials said that a vehicle struck the pole and that power was knocked out in the area. They did not say if anyone was injured.

Queens Road was shut down in both directions while Duke Energy worked the scene. It was reopened around 8 p.m.
