Two charged for selling pot to undercover officers

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Two men were jailed Thursday night after selling an envelope of marijuana to two undercover Salisbury police officers, according to the report.

The officers were in a rental car working undercover in the area near N. Long Street when they were approached by Michael Eugene Daniels, 55, of E. Council Street.

Police say Daniels came up to the car window, and thinking the officers were customers looking to buy weed, said "I got what you want."

According to the report, Daniels left and went to another location to get the marijuana.  He came back minutes later and said he had to have money up front.  The officers showed Daniels two $5 bills,  Daniels then left to get the "order."

Minutes later Daniels and another man, Willie Lee Lyles, Jr., 45, of N. Long Street.  Daniels showed the officers an envelope containing marijuana.

Daniels and Lyles were charged with drug possession, Lyles was charged with selling/delivering drugs.

Bond was set at $10,000 for each man.
