Commissioners turn power back on to Lomax Farms

CABARRUS COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Power is back on at a Cabarrus County farm after commissioners changed their minds about cutting funding to the farm.

Last Tuesday, commissioners voted to cut funding for the Lomax Incubator Farm.

Now commissioners say they will return electricity to the farm and give farmers full access until Lomax turns it over to a non profit.

This comes as Scott Avett of the Avett Brothers offered to underwrite operations for the farm.

The mission of the farm is to expand the number of farmers in Cabarrus County.
