(RNN) - Arthur continues to weaken as it moves across the northern Atlantic Ocean, and has been downgraded to a tropical storm. It is expected to continue to weaken throughout the day Saturday.
Arthur's winds were recorded at 70 mph and it was located about 60 miles southwest of Nova Scotia. According to the Associated Press, there was minimal damage from the storm in the New England states with some localized power outages and minor flooding. No injuries or deaths related to the storm were reported in those areas.
Nova Scotia is still under a tropical storm warning.
The storm was downgraded to a Category 1 Friday after making landfall in North Carolina on Thursday as a Category 2 hurricane.
An advisory from the National Weather Service described the continued weakening of the storm as it moves toward Nova Scotia where it had been expected to make landfall again.
