A former teacher and cheerleading coach at North Rowan High School was sentenced Thursday to up to ten years in prison for multiple sex offenses involving an underage student.
Bobby Eric Sharpe, 32, of Statesville, has been in jail since 2009 when he was arrested by Spencer Police and charged with 28 counts of sexual activity and 12 counts of sex offense involving the student.
Sharpe resigned from North Rowan on the day the allegations were made. He was charged in June of 2009 and held under a bond of $200,000.
Sharpe will get credit for time served in jail while he was waiting trial.
