Police in Charlotte are asking for the public's help in identifying a man they say stole beer from a convenience store and threatened the store clerk with a knife Sunday.The incident was reported at 4:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on the 9600 block of University City Boulevard.Officers say the man walked into the store, took twelve packs of beer out of the cooler and left without paying.When the store clerk confronted the man, he pulled a knife and threatened the clerk with it, police say.He left the area in a red pickup truck. Police describe the man as a white male, approximately 25-30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 165 pounds. Anyone with information concerning this case or the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
