Detectives trying to ID man in Family Dollar armed robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Detectives in Charlotte are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man they say robbed a local store at gunpoint.

The robbery happened at the Family Dollar on the 4600 block of W Tyvola Road just before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say a man robbed the store at gunpoint then left on foot, heading outbound on Tyvola Road.

The robber is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s with a mustache, short haircut and possible goatee.

He was wearing a white tank top, black pants, and white sneakers. He also had a white towel covering his head and neck.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
