Sheriff: Traffic stop nets largest seizure of illegal prescription drugs ever in county

LINCOLNTON, NC (WBTV) -

A morning traffic stop in Lincoln County has netted the largest amount of illegal prescriptions drugs ever seized in the county, investigators say.

The vehicle was stopped on Jenkins Road off of Highway 150 East around 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrived and asked for permission to search the vehicle where they found a container with 454 methadone pills and 1,453 Xanax pills.

A total of 400 assorted uncontrolled pills were also seized bringing the total number of pills seized to 2,307.   

Officers also confiscated a .380 caliber pistol during the search.

Terry Lee Graham, 54, of Lincolnton, is charged with two felony counts of trafficking in opium and heroin and one felony count each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Bond was set at $115,000.
