A Charlotte man faces fraud charges after state agents say he filed false insurance claims on his motorcycle.

Investigators say Robert Thomas White, 53, of Kipling Drive, filed insurance claims with three different companies for the same damage to his 1985 Honda motorcycle.

White allegedly filed the claims with Progressive Insurance Company on Aug. 25, 2013, Allstate Insurance Company on Sept. 10, 2013, and GEICO on Sept. 16, 2013.

White collected $3,795.33 from the Progressive and Allstate claims, according to insurance agents.

He is charged with two counts of insurance fraud and one count each of obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, according to the NC Department of Insurance.

He was arrested by Charlotte police Monday and placed under a $3,000 bond.
