CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Salisbury man who investigators say accidentally shot his cousin earlier this month has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Timothy Scott Glover, 22, of Salisbury, was drunk and in possession of an illegal weapon when the shooting occurred, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives say Glover fatally shot 23-year-old Roy Jacob Bryant on June 9 at 11:10 p.m. on the 5200 block of Woodleaf Road.

The two had been drinking liquor and Glover had a sawed-off 20 gauge shotgun in his possession that went off and hit Bryant in the abdomen, investigators say.

Bryant was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Glover is charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Bond was set at $25,000.
