Family says boyfriend of missing teacher is no longer cooperating

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Family members of missing teacher Bianca Tanner say the boyfriend, Angelo Grayson Smith, Jr., is no longer cooperating with police.

Cerise Richardson, sister of Bianca Tanner, tells WBTV she has been told police must now communicate through Smith's lawyer. Richardson says she is disappointed Smith is no longer cooperating.

The family wants Smith to do all he can to help find their loved one.

"I'm hurt," the sister said. "I'm disappointed. He has told me and my family on numerous occasions that he had nothing to do with Bianca's disappearance and he has been in line with us that we want to bring her home as quickly as possible and safely. And he would do anything to do that, and so far his actions don't coincide with what he is saying. It's disheartening."

The family is not giving up. They plan to return to Charlotte soon to continue looking for their family member. Each that goes and no sign of Bianca, it gets tougher and tougher for the family.

"It's been hell," Tanner's Father Rodney Closs said. "I've been running around like a chicken with his neck cut off trying to find her."

The family says it is getting expensive for them to travel back and forth from Greensboro.

They have set up an account where people can donate to help with take care of transportation, food and lodging. So far nearly $1600 has been raised.

You can donate by visiting the gofundme account here, or by mailing donations to:
