Report: Man caught making 'sexual gestures' at toddler, tries to sell food stamp card

A convicted sex offender was arrested after he was caught peeping on, and making obscene gestures to, a two-year-old girl, according to a report from the Boone Police Department.

Linville Reagan Wiles, 39, was arrested Sunday and charged with misdemeanor secret peeping and felony attempting to sell food stamp card.

The arrest came after a woman told police she saw Wiles peeping into two windows at College Place Apartments.

The victim said that while looking through the first window Wiles was making "sexual gestures" at her two-year-old daughter.

Wiles was confronted while looking through the second window. Police say he responded by trying to sell the person that confronted him a food stamp card.

Wiles was arrested and taken to the Watauga County Jail under a $15,000 bond. He is due in court on July 7.

Police told WBTV that Wiles is a convicted sex offender in North Carolina, and that investigators are working with the Sheriff's Office to determine if any more charges can be filed against him.
