CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A community crusader who is working to end hunger in Charlotte and was nominated as a CNN Hero last year had two beehives stolen from one of the group's gardens.

Robin Emmons is the founder of Sow Much Food, a community effort to help grow gardens in the Charlotte region where access to fresh food is hard to come but, resulting in poor community health.

The police report says two bee hives valued at $400 was taken from one of the non-profit's gardens on Sunset Road in north Charlotte.

The hives were taken sometime over the weekend.

Police have made no arrests in the case.
