Drowning man's friends wait

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron in the WBTV Newsroom. There's been a drowning tonight. A 19-year old swimming with friends went under and didn't come back up. Those friends then spent two hours looking for him before they called for a rescue. Divers found the body 2 hours later and reporter David Spunt will have much more to the story tonight at 11:00.

Also tonight, a huge upset victory for the Tea Party. Eric Cantor, the second-ranking Republican on Capitol Hill, defeated by his Tea Party rival and economics Professor Dave Brat in the Virginia Congressional primary.

A real surprise-- former Charlotte Mayor Patrick Canon releases a selfie photo tonight, just a week after pleading guilty to corruption in office charges. Some pundits are wondering if his selfie will turn into a cell-phie when sentencing is passed.

A group of CMS parents are fighting the school board to reinstate nurses in schools. After 2 years, the battle drags on.

A Waffle House waitress got a $1,000 tip. She told her customer company policy forbids her accepting a large amount on a credit card. That customer then wrote her a personal check.

Please join Eric Thomas, Delano Little, Molly Grantham and me for WBTV News at 11:00 tonight!
