SCHP: 1 dead after Chesterfield Co. crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

One person is dead after being thrown from a SUV during a Sunday morning wreck.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said 46-year-old Jimmy Presley was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer with three passengers heading south on W.L. Melton Road when he ran off the road and hit a ditch.

Troopers said the back left seat passenger was thrown from the car and died on the scene. SCHP said the deceased passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. Troopers have not released the fatality victim's name.

Presley and the other two passengers were injured and taken to the hospital by EMS, troopers said.

Trooper said charges are pending.
