A car drove right into a building at an East Charlotte apartment complex.
It happened just before 1 a.m. sunday morning on Eastcrest Drive.
Police say the driver was pulling into a parking spot and hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes.
Fortunately, this particular building at the complex was vacant at the time due to renovations.
The driver is expected to be okay.
The deadly crash happened around 2 p.m. in the 4000 block of Taylorsville Highway near Statesville, troopers say.
