CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Charlotte woman needs the community's help to find her 80-year-old father. Armando Alvarez was last seen on Wednesday wearing a brown shirt, gray shorts, and slippers.

His daughter, Rosa Vasquez, is growing weary and has this one thing to say to her missing father.

"My dear pappa," Vasquez said. "If he was in his right mind, please come home. That's all - come home please."

Her father suffers from dementia and seizures. He doesn't have his medication.  Police are continuing the search but they are in need of help. The daughter hopes people will come to her assistance.

"Get involved," the daughter said. "Don't just turn the other way. He's not a bum. He's not aggressive - be gentle and kind."

Vasquez father was last seen Wednesday at the 7-Eleven at W.T. Harris Blvd and Mt. Holly Huntersville Road. That location is about six miles away from where he stays.  The father just wandered away from the home and started walking.  His daughter wished she was home to stop him.

"Sometimes you feel guilty," Vasquez said. "That you didn't do enough. I'm trying. I know he is coming home."

Vasquez spent part of her day Friday looking for her father and she will continue on Saturday.  She is inviting the community to help.  She will meet at the 7-Eleven at W.T. Harris Blvd and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road at 10:00AM on Saturday June 7.

"That's my dad," Vasquez said. "I need him home."
