ALERT: 12 hour search for killer in Charlotte turns up nothing

Hello and good morning! It's Christine Nelson on this Friday, June 6. I'm writing this quick email from my desk in the newsroom to let you know the news that's happening now. Here are some of the stories we're talking about when you turn on WBTV News This Morning. We're live now until 9 a.m. on WBTV and Bounce TV.

LIVE: We're on a story that's really a public safety issue. A killer is on the loose right now. Charlotte police are looking for the person who shot a man on Farmhurst Drive. Our Mark Davenport has more details in a live report on what exactly happened and why this search is turning up cold after so many hours of looking.

VIDEO ALERT: Chickens spilled all over the road in Stanly County. That's after the tractor trailer carrying them overturned. Right NC 205 is still closed at this hour. When you see the video of the aftermath you'll understand why.

Also, anytime there is a school shooting it puts the whole nation on edge. We have details on the shooter in custody right now who, police say, is responsible for killing one person and injuring others on a college campus in Seattle.

NEW: We're learning the First Lady of the United States will be in North Carolina to speak at Dr. Maya Angelou funeral service. We have more details on how you can watch the service live.
