Man brags about gardening skills; busted for growing pot

A Rowan County man was arrested on Tuesday after deputies found marijuana plants growing in his back yard, according to a sheriff's report.

John Grayson Keys, 37, of Lauren Lane was charged with drug possession, drug manufacturing, and maintaining a dwelling for the drug trade.

Deputies were called to Keys home on another matter, but saw three plants, each two feet tall, growing in the backyard.

According to the report, Keys told deputies "I can grow anything with the right time and attention."

Keys also referred to himself as a "master cultivator."

Keys is being held under $5000 bond.
