5 charged for selling prescription drugs to undercover officer

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Five people are facing drug trafficking charges after an investigation by the Rowan Sheriff's Office, according to a news release provided to WBTV.

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU), assisted by the Patrol Division, has made a number of arrests pertaining to the sales of prescription narcotics, primarily opioids, to undercover narcotics officers. 

These sales occurred between December 2013, and March 2014, in various locations in Rowan County.   

On May 27, 2014, Bobby Edward Gouldman, age 55, a resident of 114 White Avenue, Kannapolis, North Carolina, was arrested by deputies and charged with two counts of sell or deliver a controlled substance, two counts of possess with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance and two counts of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle.  Bond was set at $10,000.  During the sting operation Gouldman sold 80 dosage units of diazepam tablets.  

On May 27, 2014, Glenda Gail Deese, age 53, a resident of 110 Arlene Avenue, Kannapolis, North Carolina, was arrested by deputies and charged with ten counts of trafficking opium/heroin.  Bond was set at $250,000.  During the investigation Deese sold 15 dosage units of oxycodone tablets and 38 hydrocodone tablets.   

On May 30, 2014, Terrie Irene Vorrosso, age 45, a resident of 415 Union Heights Boulevard, Salisbury, North Carolina, was arrested by deputies and charged with one count of trafficking opium/heroin, one count of possess with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance and one count of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle.  Bond was set at $15,000.  During the sting operation Vorrosso sold 52 dosage units of hydrocodone tablets to an undercover officer.

On May 30, 2014, Sandra Nicole Ellis, age 27, a resident of 906 Iredell Avenue, Spencer, North Carolina, was arrested by deputies and charged with three counts of trafficking opium/heroin, three counts of possess with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance and three counts of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle.  Bond was set at $250,000.  During the investigation Ellis sold 127 dosage units of hydrocodone to an undercover officer.

On May 30, 2014, Cindy Michelle Self, age 40, a resident of 1218 Edgefield Drive, Salisbury, North Carolina, was arrested by deputies and charged with one count of trafficking opium/heroin and one count of possess with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance.  Bond was set at $50,000.  During the course of the investigation Self sold 35 dosage units of oxycodone tablets to an undercover officer. 

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office is continuing to hunt other suspects that will be arrested for sales to undercover narcotics officers.
