LIVE: We will be live from federal court in uptown Charlotte, where former Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon is expected to plead guilty today to a charge of corruption. Cannon faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although he is not expected to be sentenced today. In a document that was unsealed yesterday, Cannon pleaded guilty to the corruption charge.

Pinehurst Resort is adding a ninth golf course to its lineup. Officials at the resort said Monday that they have purchased the National Golf Club in Pinehurst, including its Jack Nicklaus-designed course. That course will be renamed Pinehurst No. 9.
