Traffic stop leads to mobile meth lab, Hazmat situation in Mooresville

MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

A traffic stop in Mooresville turned into a Hazmat scene in a parking lot after offers spotted what they believed a meth lab.

Just after 12 p.m. on Monday, a Mooresville Police officer stopped a vehicle with a revoked registration plate on the 500 block of River Highway, in front of Lowe's Home Improvement store.

While conducting the traffic stop, the officer saw items inside the vehicle he believed to be consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Mooresville Fire - Rescue, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, and the State Bureau of Investigation were all called in to assist.

Officials have not said if anyone has been charged.

Police say the Iredell County Sheriff's Office is heading the investigation.
