Shoe boxes for Soldiers

NEWTON, NC (WBTV) - On WBTV News Sunday morning, we took time to remember our servicemen and women. Nine-year-old Johannah Caroll and her mother joined us in studio to talk about an organization called Shoe boxes for Soldiers.

A benefit held June first from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Tudor House in Newton will help Johannah send shoe boxes overseas to our troops. The organization will collect items at the benefit, but will also raise the funds to mail the shoe boxes.

BBQ plates will be $5 and admittance is $5. You can get in free by bringing 5 items for a shoe box.

The organization is also accepting donations through and the link to follow is
