SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - The third annual NSSA (National Sportscasters & Sportswriters) Sports Book Festival will take place from 1:30-5pm on Sunday, June 8th at Literary Bookpost, 110 South Main Street, in downtown Salisbury.
Three sports book authors will be on hand to autograph their books and chat.
Authors scheduled to appear:
- Roland Lazenby, who will sign his new book, Michael Jordan: The Life. Lazenby lives in Roanoke and has written or co-written dozens of sports books throughout his career. He has also taught several classes on media writing at Virginia Tech and Radford University;
- Dan Collins, who will sign his book, The ACC Basketball Book of Fame. Collins is a longtime sportswriter for the Winston-Salem Journal, who has been on the Wake Forest football and basketball beats for more than two decades. He also has been on the minor league baseball beat in Winston-Salem for three decades;
- Mark McCarter, who will sign his book, Never a Bad Game, a collection of 50 stories about the Southern League, to commemorate its 50-year anniversary. McCarter, a sportswriter for the Huntsville Times and AL.com, is a four-time NSSA Alabama Sportswriter of the Year.
Several of NSSA's Sportscasters and Sportswriters of the Year from all over the country will be there to chat as well.
