Police looking for two men who beat, stabbed man in Statesville


Police in Statesville are asking for the public's help in finding two men that say beat a man then stabbed him.

The incident was reported on Wednesday just before 4 a.m. on the 1200 block of West Front Street, according to the Statesville Police Department.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man suffering from several stab wounds. He was taken by EMS to Iredell Memorial Hospital and later moved to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

He told police he was walking down the street when two black males came up to him, began punching him and stabbing him several times.

The two men left the area on foot running toward Oakland Avenue.

The victim described the suspect as follows:

Suspect 1:  Black male, 20's, black stocking cap, Red long baggy T-shirt, black shorts, black & Red shoes. This suspect is the person that the victim said stabbed him.

Suspect 2:  Black male, early 20's, long baggy white T-shirt, jean shorts, and possibly had deadlocks.

Both suspects were described as being between 5'9", and 6'0", and had a thin build.

Callers can remain anonymous, and a reward is possible if suspects are identified and arrested.
