CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A weak boundary will move into the Carolinas from the north on Thursday and move through on Friday, says WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin.

This will supply an additional trigger to an already unstable air mass and will aid additional thunderstorm development throughout the day.

The boundary may slip far enough south Friday causing the southern Piedmont of NC and the SC Upstate regions to remain active, but sparing our northern counties from more thunderstorms.

Temperatures begin falling back on Friday and should be delightful - if only a bit closer to average - by the weekend with lower humidity and virtually no chance of storms.

A great outdoor weekend pattern for sure.
