More thunderstorms in the forecast as heat locks in on region

Posted: Updated:
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A typical summertime pattern is locked in place - heat and humidity along with pop-up thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening, says WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin.

High temperatures will be close to 90 degrees on Wednesday and well into the 80s Thursday and Friday.

Storms will be hit or miss today, but will likely be more widespread Thursday and Friday, as a weak cold front drops in from the north and slides south through the Carolinas.

With the above in mind, the weekend looks fairly nice at this point - can't rule out a stray storm on Saturday, but there should be a lot of sunshine around both days with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the 60s.
