CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Fire crews are investigating what caused a house fire in south Charlotte.

The fire was reported at 5:55 a.m. on the 1300 block of Choyce Avenue off of Nations Ford Road, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the home.

The road is currently closed to through traffic.

No one was at home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire investigators say they have reports of a man walking away from the home moments before the fire broke out.
