Two store employees robbed at gunpoint at Fort Mill Dollar Tree

FORT MILL, SC (WBTV) - Investigators in York County are investigating an armed robbery of two store employees in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree in Fort Mill.

The robbery was reported on Sunday at 9:13 p.m. at the Dollar Tree on the 800 block of Stockbridge Drive, according to the report from the York County Sheriff's Office.

Two store employees had locked up for the night and were walking to their cars with the bank deposit bag when two male subjects began walking toward them.

One of them pointed a handgun at one of the employees and demanded her purse.

She threw the purse down and they ran back into the store, locking themselves in, according to the report.

The two men ran back to a car, fired a shot and took off.

K-9 units found the skidmarks from the car in the parking lot of Grace Presbyterian Church as well as the shell casing from the shot.

The investigation is ongoing.
