Five out of the six suspects are students at Rock Hill High School.

Four of the suspects were taken into custody at Rock Hill High on Friday, according to the news release from York County Sheriff's Office.

Through the investigation, detectives discovered the suspects stole the tablets, many of them Apple iPads, from Rock Hill High or other victim's personal devices.
The suspects then sold the tablets to either pawn shops, electronics kiosks, or other trade in stores.

The charges are receiving stolen goods, valued $2,000 or less and obtaining signature or property under false pretenses, value $2,000 or less.

The penalties for the charges are a $475 fine and/or 30 days in prison.
