Pedestrian Killed; Purse Snatchers On The Loose

Good morning on this Friday, 23 May 2014 - Kristen Miranda with you this morning - filling in for Christine who is a little under the weather.

So much to tell you about when you turn on the TV this morning.

A developing story overnight - the investigation into the death of a person walking along a highway in Caldwell County.

A little boy trying his hardest to recover in the hospital this morning - after police say his mom and her boyfriend abused him.  Our Astrid Martinez on that story - she tells us how the department of social services is responding to allegations that it didn't do enough to protect that boy.

There are some purse snatchers on the loose - we'll tell you where - and how they're getting away with the crime.

If you are hopping a flight this morning from Charlotte Douglas - parking and getting to the terminal might be a hassle.  We're going to look at some of the problems caused by construction and shifting traffic patterns at the airport.

We're looking ahead to new developments in the case of a former Cleveland county teacher's assistant accused of assaulting a special needs student.

Another step toward legalizing medical marijuana in North Carolina....

And new developments in the effort to keep the film industry booming in our state.
