Police K9 Eddie sniffs out another felony

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - Salisbury Police dog Eddie has a nose for narcotics, and it paid off again Tuesday night.

Police stopped a car on Grim Street near the intersection of W. Bank Street.  It's an area that has been getting a lot of attention due to recent criminal activity.

In this case, police had information that the driver was carrying drugs.  Police K9 Eddie searched the car and picked up on a strong scent in the center console.

According to the report, the driver admitted having drugs in the car even before Eddie found the stash.

Police found 6.6 grams of crack cocaine and 2.2 grams of marijuana.

Kenneth Dwayne Neely, Jr., 49, was charged with drug possession and jailed under $25,000 bond.
