CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin says a pretty quiet forecast remains in place through the midweek period.

Lots of sunshine and little chance for rain over the next couple of days.

After several days of cool weather, highs climb back to near 80 degrees on Tuesday.

If you are a fan of warm weather, you'll love the second half of the work week, as we'll be well into the 80s Wednesday, possibly even hitting 90 degrees in Charlotte Thursday as a ridge of high pressure in the upper levels causes temperatures to skyrocket!

As a weak front moves our way late in the week, there is a small chance for scattered thunderstorms both Thursday and Friday, not much rain is expected over the holiday weekend, Conklin.
