Man convicted of 18 counts of sex offenses against child, gets 105 years

A North Carolina man was sentenced and convicted Monday on 18 counts of sex offenses involving a child, according to District Attorney James C. Gaither, Jr.

Ron Christopher Rogers, 42, of Maiden, was found guilty of six counts of felony rape of a child, six counts of felony first degree sex offense with a child, and six counts of felony indecent liberties with a child in Catawba County Criminal Superior Court.

The crimes, officials said, occurred between July 2011 and December 2011 in the City of Maiden. The victim was under the age of 12.

Rogers was sentenced to spend no less than 900 months and no more than 1260 months (around 105 years) in the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction. Upon his release, he will also have to register with the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry for the remainder of his life and be subjected to Satellite Based monitoring for the remainder of his life.
