Connor Shaw, fiancee expecting first child

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Connor Shaw and fiancee Molly Smith are expecting their first child together, WIS has learned.

Shaw, who signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Browns, headed to rookie minicamp this week.

Shaw said last week via Twitter that he is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Browns.

The former Gamecock quarterback was 180-of-284 with 2,447 passing yards, one interception and 24 touchdowns in his senior season. He also rushed 154 times for 558 yards and six touchdowns.

Shaw and Smith have also been busy planning a wedding which will take place in July in the Dominican Republic.

Baby Shaw is due in September.

    Responding to Observer questions about the plans, the medical giant formerly known as Carolinas HealthCare System said that 90 people have been laid off since November when job cuts from the initiative began.
