Man charged for starting fire at neighbor's house

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - It turns out that Salisbury Police didn't have to look far to find the man they say started a fire in a house on Ridge Avenue a few days ago.

Henry Ervin Boone, 67, was charged with burning personal property and breaking and entering.  He was jailed under $25,000 bond.

WBTV reported that a man was seen lighting a piece of paper on fire, then holding it up to his neighbor's window.  A set of bamboo curtains caught fire.

When the homeowner returned he fell and injured his head while trying to make sure his cats were safe.  The cats were not harmed.

Boone was convicted of manslaughter in 1981.
