Rain moves out, cooler temps move in

Now that the big front has moved on to the east and off the coast, much drier and noticeably cooler air has filtered in, says WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin.

That brings sunshine and spring like temperatures back into the picture on Friday, with highs in the 70s.

A weak front will drag into the mountains with the tail end of it dangling in our area over the weekend.

At most, it will produce a spotty shower over the weekend time frame, but we are not concerned about any significant disruptive weather. Race fans rejoice!

Early sunshine Saturday will boost our afternoon readings back into the low 70s, but more clouds and that shower threat will keep us mainly in the 60s on Sunday.
