Man arrested after firing shots into Clover home, no injuries reported

CLOVER, SC (WBTV) -

A Gastonia man is charged with attempted murder after investigators say he fired multiple shots into a Clover home.

The incident was reported on Monday at 5:09 p.m. at a home on the 200 block of Richland Street, according to the report from the Clover Police Department.

Kevin Renard Thomas, 28, is charged with attempted murder, possession of weapon during a violent crime and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

Gary Boyd, was also arrested and charged in connection to the incident.

Investigators say Thomas drove by the home in his car and fired several shots at the home, shattering the front door and leaving several bullet holes.

No one was injured inside the home.

The victim told police that Thomas had sent him several threatening text messages after he had not paid him for several prescription painkillers, according to the report.

The victim was inside the home at the time of the shooting along with his mother and girlfriend.

The investigation is ongoing.
