It is a Charlotte area company that promises convenience.
"This is not a Harris Teeter yet, this is not a Bi-Lo," said Ray Schmitt. "This is a start up company.
Schmitt is a vice president for Lettuce Carry. A company that delivers groceries to customer's front door. It's a different way to shop. So different, North Carolina food safety inspectors weren't in the loop.
"They were not on our radar," said Dan Ragan with the Food and Drug Protection Division of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. "We had to find out what was going on."
