Like father like daughter: Philanthropy runs deep in Bogues family

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

When it comes to local philanthropy, Brittney Bogues has some big shoes to fill. The 24-year-old daughter of Hornets legend Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues, is kicking off Bends, Brunch and Bubbly, a way to get more people active in Charlotte.

The event came together when Bogues lost 30 pounds because of her participation in Yoga and changing her diet. This prompted her to spread her message, yet still find a way to give back to the community, as all of the proceeds from the event are going to Always Believe Foundation and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Brittany Bogues is the CEO/Founder of AllinPR, the company is hosting the event next month.

The best part of getting involved in philanthropy? The additional connection it brings with her father.
"We've been able to have a deeper connection (through philanthropy)", said Bogues. "We've formed a certain kind of bond. I really look up to him, and he's my biggest inspiration".

Bends, Brunch and Bubbly will take place on June 1st at the Crowne Plaza Executive Park, going from 11am to 3pm. For information on tickets, click here

Always Believe Foundation aids at risk youth ages 12-18 in the West Charlotte community. The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption helps find families for foster children.
