Lincoln Co. woman charged with breaking into cowboy church in Vale

LINCOLNTON, NC (WBTV) -

A Lincoln County woman has been charged in connection with the Jan. 2014 theft of saddles from the Cross Creek Cowboy Church in Vale.

Sylvia Juanita Minteer, 43, of Vale, is charged with felony count of breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

On Jan. 12, John Neal reported that when he arrived at the large metal horse barn one of the sliding doors facing North Brook No. 3 School Road was partially open.
 
The lock on the storage room door inside the barn had been cut and a number of items including five saddles had been removed.

Minteer was arrested Saturday and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.  

The investigation is ongoing.
