World Lupus Day

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body.  The signs and symptoms can last anywhere from six weeks to several years or more.

To raise awareness about this chronic disease, May has been named Lupus Awareness Month.

Timeka Griffin from the North Carolina chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America visited WBTV News Saturday Morning to talk about the disease and World Lupus Day.
