Two convicted felons were arrested on weapons and drug charges after an investigation by the Lenoir Police Department.

On May 6, investigators arrested 58-year-old Julius Daniel McGuire, who police say goes by the name "Boone," and 32-year-old Kristen Michelle Neumann at a home on the 1500 block of Walt Arney Road.

Police say the arrests came at the end of a two-year investigation that began with community complaints.

During a search of the property on Walt Arney Road, officers seized several firearms and drug paraphernalia. McGuire and Neumann, both convicted felons, are banned from owning firearms.

The duo was arrested, taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center and placed under a $30,000 bond each.

Both were charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and McGuire was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
