ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

A traffic accident caused backups for drivers on I-77 in South Carolina Tuesday.

The wreck happened just after 4 p.m. in the southbound lanes near exit 77, which is S Anderson Road, in Rock Hill.

From WBTV's Sky 3, a black pickup truck could be seen with heavy damage just off the road near the wood line.

At least one person had to be cut out of the vehicle.

Officials have not said what may have caused the crash.

Emergency crews were directing traffic into the left lane and had the right lane closed.

Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
