CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the cause of an accident that forced the shut down of multiple lanes of Interstate 77 just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the accident occurred on the I-77 southbound near the Arrowood Road exit. It involved a pickup and an SUV, one of which was hauling a trailer full of pine needles. The contents of the trailer spilled over the interstate during the wreck, causing two lanes to be closed while the scene was being cleared.
Authorities say no one was injured.
