The Good Ride inaugural charity bike event

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Enjoy a family-friendly event, cycling, and benefiting a good cause...all happening soon in Charlotte.

The Good Ride, an inaugural charity bike event, will take place May 10th and will start and end at Blakeney Professional Center in south Charlotte. Its proceeds will support 24 Hours of Booty, an organization that integrates community fundraising and cycling to support cancer survivorship.

Michael Hernandez, founder of The Good Ride, and Janet Ervin, Marketing Director for 24 Hours of Booty, visited WBTV Studios Saturday morning to talk about how these events make a difference in the community, and for everyone affected by cancer.

The Good Ride, May 10th
22, 34 and 65 mile routes, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Family Fun Ride (3-5 miles) for ages 6 and up, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Registration: $40 per rider until April 27th, then $45 per rider from April 28th until day of event (Family Ride registration fee is $10 per rider or $20 per family)
Participates must be ages 12 and up for the mileage rides.
Youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
