Three officers were injured Wednesday after their vehicle was rear-ended during a traffic stop in Statesville.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 90 near the city limits.
The officers, who officials told WBTV work vice narcotics, were conducting a traffic stop and had their strobe lights activated when a third vehicle struck the rear of their SUV.
The officers' SUV then hit the rear of the car they had pulled over.
The officers were taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and are expected to be okay.
No other injuries were reported.
Police have not said if any charges are being filed.
