Man gets 2.5 years for stealing Nintendo game, vodka

A man was convicted on breaking and entering and larceny charges after stealing liquor and a video game.

Russell Lamont Epps, 52, was found guilty of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, and habitual breaking and entering offender status Wednesday in Catawba County Criminal Superior Court.

The crimes occurred in May of 2013 in the city of Hickory, when Epps broke into a business and stole vodka and a Nintendo video game worth $220.

Officials say he was identified using video surveillance at the business.

Epps was sentenced to serve between 30 and 48 months in the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction.
